Quick Update and a Promise of Pictures!

I've been promising new pictures for awhile now, but just have not had one minute to sit on the computer and download the now 75+ pictures I have taken over the past month! This past week, my dad and my sister were here visiting from Sunday-Wednesday as my dad's trip out to visit my sister in NJ did not work out, so it was easier for her to just fly here instead.

I started my job on Tuesday, and although it went well, I have some things to figure out to be sure its the right fit. I work in Woodville today so we'll see out that site goes.

The three of us went to the State Fair yesterday and I got some really great pictures of Gage enjoying some treats, as well as the large slide!

We are headed to both Neillsville and Shell Lake this weekend for the long holiday and will be attending a wedding anniversary on my side of the family and a baby shower for twins in Shell Lake on Sunday! I PROMISE there will be new pictures of our adventures by next week!

Safe travels to our our loved ones this holiday weekend!

Something Fun

My friend Leah (A Day in the Life blog site) periodically puts these types of things on her blog site, and I find them very interesting and a great way to get to know my friends better. These really got me thinking, and although it didn't necessarily make me feel "old", I was kind of surprised at how much time in my life truly has flown by. Even when reading Leah's, she mentioned that 3 years ago she did the Breast Cancer 3-day 60 mile walk, and it seriously seems like JUST YESTERDAY that she did that....and yet its been 3 years! Ikes. Read below and enjoy....and if you have your own blog site, copy and paste and share with the rest of us!

20 years ago I...
1. Was in Mr. O'Leary's 5th Grade Class, becoming friends with Lori (who I am still friends with today)
2. Wanting and not wanting to wear my first bra. I wanted to, so that I could feel older, yet the boys were snapping bra straps at that time, and I was afraid to have that happen to me.
3. Got to have my first locker. I had to share with someone else, and we didn't have combinations on them yet (that was for "BIG" 6th Graders), yet I had a locker and NOT a cubby!

10 years ago I...
1. Was in a "new" relationship with Tim, we met in Sept 96 and were hot n' heavy during 1997!
2. Was entering my junior year of college at Stout, working part time at a jewelry store, and trying my best to have fun!
3. Lived in a cool apartment with Holly and Jill

5 years ago I...
1. Bought a house
2. Got married 9-21-02
3. Got a dog, Jazz

3 years ago I...
1. Was enjoying married life
2. Went on a vacation to Cozumel, Mexico
3. Spent a fun vacation in New Jersey/NYC with my sister Katie, and we walked through the subway tunnels a bit intoxicated at about 11 pm singing "If I Was a Rich Girl" (na na na) because we liked how it sounded when it echoed.

1 year ago I...
1. Had a new baby boy 7-5-06
2. Was still obsessing about not fitting into my pre-pregnancy jeans!
3. Went to my mom and Ken's wedding

So far this year I...
1. Moved into a new house, in a new state (Wisconsin)
2. Got a new job (Part-Time)
3. Have watched my son grow into the funniest, most interesting little man!

Yesterday I...
1. Mopped my floors
2. Mowed part of the lawn
3. Spent a great afternoon and evening with my cousin Christopher, his wife Shelly, and their 4-month old Jonathon. Oh, and we had our 2nd bonfire of the year!!!

Today I...
1. Cleaned up the kitchen and swept the floor
2. Had breakfast with Gage
3. Haven't even showered yet, or changed out of my pajamas and it's almost noon. I love IT!

Tomorrow I...
1. Will go to my friend Yvonne's and meet Stacy for dim sum (at the Jun Bo restaurant, and I've never had it but they keep raving about it).
2. Mapquest the location of the senior center that I have to work at on Tuesday for my first "official" day of work!
3. Go for a run once Tim gets home, b/c I am going to run a 5k with Jenny in the beginning of October and I need to get in shape!!!!!

In the next year I...
1. Will go on a vacation with Tim and my sister Katie and husband Johnny....probably to Mexico or someplace warm.
2. Will try to get pregnant again!!!
3. Will continue to slowly decorate my new house and make it a comfortable looking/feeling home!

your turn! slap this puppy on your blog and share your history!

MathMOMical Equation

Amoxycillian + Motrin + Oragel + Lots and lots of sleep + Extra TLC, snuggles, and kisses + TIME =

A HEALTHY AND HAPPY GAGE THOMAS!!!!!

He is better. The sickness aliens who stole my son returned him Tuesday evening, and he is "so" back to himself (terrorizing the dog, pulling every kitchen utensil/dish cloth/ pot/pan out of it's original drawer, standing up on his rocking horse with a mischevious grin just waiting for me to say, "Gage Thomas Fox you sit on your bottom", dragging my undergarments from the laundry basket and throwing them down the stairs) that you wouldn't even have known he was kidnipped for the 4 days he was so miserable!! I am very happy that he is feeling better, as any momma (or daddy for that matter) knows what a horrible feeling it is to see your little one so sick and helpless.

Now, off to daycare tomorrow and I get to go to my first day of work!

I got a new camera for my birthday and have been taking lots of pictures, however I haven't read the directions on how to download the pics onto my computer yet, thus the delay in any new pictures on this blog. I know it will not be a difficult quest, it just requires more of my time that I am willing to give right now. It is 8:30 pm, it's been a long couple of days, and I am going upstairs and reading a book in my bed! Good Night!

Now THAT explains it!

Took Gage in to the Doctor today.
Ear infection in the left ear, and he's popping at least one, possibly two, molars.

Doesn't necessarily make the situation any better, just peace of mind that there is an answer and hopefully we are on our way back to normal here shortly.

Yikes

For anyone that remembers what a wonderful baby Gage was, and all the comments we used to get about how he "never" cries, and sleeps so well....
Let me tell you that what we missed in the early part of his life we are getting now. We are definitely making up for lost cries....

The past 5 days with Gage have been nothing but a headache. Mr. Gage, who normally wakes up each day with a smile and a zest for life has been experiencing a bout of teething so bad that all he can seem to do is cry. And if he's not crying, he wants to be sitting on your lap, not allowing you to even go to the bathroom without bawling his head off and falling down to the floor in a miserable tantrum.

Due to Wed-Friday being like this, I didn't think to charge the battery on my camera and therefore was unable to get one picture at Carrie and Donny's wedding this weekend. The weather was cool and raining for the majority of the day on Saturday, but the rain stopped in time for the wedding (The wedding was outdoors under a tent) and held off until Sunday. They had such a nice turnout despite the rain, and the whole day was just wonderful. Lots of people, good food, good music....Carrie looked beautiful!! She just glowed all day long. It was so much fun. Donny (groom) and the kids (Hunter is Carrie's son, and Ritchie and Cassidy are Donny's children) were the wedding party and "gave" their parents away. They really incorporated this into their wedding, as it was a family coming together, not just a couple. It was really nice and the whole family is glad to see Carrie so happy.

Today is major catch-up day on many things...laundry (6 loads!), cleaning, and Gage's naps. He is sleeping right now. Part of the misery has been the lack of naps he has gotten since Thursday. I didn't even get to go to work on my very first day (lovely) as he was running a temp. of 101.5 and I couldn't take him to daycare. I am hoping that the lazy day today helps him get caught up on his sleep, help those damn teeth pop out already and we can get our little guy back. I should have some pictures up soon, as life may go back to being somewhat normal and I can actually take a picture of a little boy that is not bawling.

Is this in our future?

My friend Cara recently made me aware that their 6 month old son Gabe had also called 911, like Gage had, causing the police to come to their door and check things out.

She emailed me this video today of a recent clip on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno, and I just about wet my pants!

Now if by chance this DOES happen to be a Gage moment in the future, I sure hope I am not screeching in the backround as this mother does on the video...

Good News, Good Times

I heard back about the job today.....and I got it! I am super pumped about this. I am feeling really good about going back to work. It has been about 13 months since I had a paying job!
So for the details: I will be working for St. Croix County's Department on Aging as a Day Program Coordinator for the day-away social program for adults with early onset Alzheimers/Dementia. This program is basically respite for the caregivers, and a positive and safe social outlet/location for the participants. The program is held Mon-Fri at different locations throughout St. Croix County, and I will be working at the New Richmond site one day per week, and the Woodville (about 15 miles from my house) one day per week. The program runs from 9:30-2:30 each day, with coffee time and lunch provided, but the rest of the day, I get to develop and implement programming with the help of a volunteer (that I will supervise!) I am SOOOOOOO excited to be back doing what I LOVE to do...and am so blessed that I found something so ideal for me right now. I can be home with my little man 3 days per week, but out of the house doing something productive the other 2! YEAH! I hope to be able to start in a week or so, as they know I need to arrange daycare and are being very flexible with me with my start date. Wish me luck!

We have been pretty low-key since mid-July when things were very busy for us. We spent a day back in Farmington last weekend at the Dakota County Fair with my cousin Chris, his wife Shelly and their baby Jonathon-it was hot, but a lot of fun! We also visited some of our old neighbors, who seemed very happy to see us. We have been rather lazy with house projects (took us about 3 weeks to hang curtain rods in the living room and bathroom!) but are enjoying the house nonetheless, and know we have plenty of time to get things done. It will happen. I have made a couple friends here in NR, all of which have boys around Gage's age! That has been nice, as we've spent a few evenings sitting in the driveway and letting the kids play while we sit and talk.

This weekend is Carrie and Donny's wedding in Shell Lake. Hoping for a breezy 80 degree day as all is outdoors! Should be beautiful no matter what the temperature. Looking forward to watching Gage dance as that seems to be the new thing. I will post picture next week of the family and of course, the bride and groom!

Tim was out of town last week for work for a few days so Gage and I were invited to Yvonne and Brian's house for dinner and we let the kids eat ice cream and play. Yvonne dressed Gage up in a little chef outfit, super cute. He has not been cooperating with getting his picture taken lately. He refuses, literally REFUSES to look at me when I am trying to get his attention. Little stinker. Which, he has been. He has been slapping us in the face, as well as hitting the dog, and we are really trying to nip that one in the butt! Ha! The (never-ending) joys of parenting!

Still here...

Noticed I haven't updated in a couple of weeks so thought I'd just get a quick blurb out there.

Gage is doing well. We started him in 1 day a week of daycare this week and it went really well. I am currently job searching for a PT job and actually had an interview with St. Croix County yesterday that I feel went really good. It would be a 2 day/week position which would be absolutely ideal for me at this point. I LOVE staying home with him, but am now feeling like I need something else on the side and feel its the right time for me to start looking. I will keep you posted on the job end.

We started Gage in a daycare center, Daisy Hill, located in Roberts, WI. He was there yesterday from 9-3 as mommy was having a harder time with it than him! The teachers said he did very well, and seemed to enjoy himself. I was able to go to my interview and run a couple of errands while he was there. I feel this will be very good for him, as we aren't participating in as many playdates since we have moved and he really needs the socialization and structure setting that a daycare can give to him. He continues to "bruise around" and I am finding that the daredevil personality that he seems to have developed (or may have been born with?!?) is going to give me gray hairs before I am ready for them. He fell in the bathtub 2 weeks ago and gave himself a black eye, and then on Tuesday he fell face first onto the cement from his little picnic table and scraped his nose up really good and gave himself a nice purple bruise on his forehead. He constantly looks as if he has been in a boxing ring...

I am headed out of town for a scrapbooking weekend in Augusta. Looking forward to it!
I have been bad at uploading new pictures, even though I take several a week, but will try to get new pictures of our life on here as soon as I can! Hope all is well with everyone out there reading this and if we haven't, we hope to see you again soon!
