Be warned: The following post contains nothing but self-pity, a bunch of moaning, and some complaining. If you aren't in the mood, scroll down for some funny past pictures of Gage and come back in two weeks when mama is feeling better.
(Don't say I didn't warn you).
Hi! How is everyone this bright and beautiful Monday morning? How am I, you ask? Just fricking peachy. Really. I constantly feel as if I'm on a boat, rocking in the deep sea. I have the energy level of a turd. I feel like I have been drinking beer for 9 days straight and am just detoxing myself today. Oh, and my son is filling his diaper for the 2nd time today, as we speak, and it's not even noon.
But really. I'm alive. I'm growing a baby that will hopefully turn out to be healthy and happy, and I'm alive. I'm not nearly as nauseous and vomiting hourly as I was with my first pregnancy, and I'm being stubborn this time around and refusing to take any nausea meds, as I feel that I can take it. But I am feeling a little crappy, and looking it these days, too.
Tim and I just finished up our June project of redoing the landscaping in the front of the house, with Tim participating in most of the hard labor, and me digging a few holes and directing. We are preparing for Gage's 2nd birthday party this weekend, and are just trying to get through the next 2 weeks so Jill can come back to the life she knows and actually participates in.
As sarcastic as this post is, I really am taking things in stride. Whereas with my first pregnancy I would curl up in the fetal position almost daily and bawl my eyes out, never knowing if and when I'd ever feel "normal" again, this time I know that it is truly temporary and the end result is better than I could ever imagine. So now I know that it is worth it...and that helps me not to cry and to actually know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Being 10 weeks pregnant, I know that in just a few weeks I should be back to my old self and these posts will actually be fun to read again.
Enjoy your week, and have safe 4th of July. We'll post birthday pictures after the weekend!
It may be some comfort to know that these toddlers don't really want to drive us crazy, they just want to understand how we work.

Fun Summer Days
Our friends Brian, Yvonne, and girls Gabrielle and Sophie came to visit us a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon.
I met Yvonne in a Baby and Me class when we lived in Farmington, and although we talk daily, we don't see one another as much since we moved to Wisconsin.
Gage and Gabby played well together, both riding their little 4-Wheelers and playing in the yard.
We enjoyed a nice evening of food and chatting and after we gave the kids a bath, they headed home to bed!
Of course I have pictures of the kiddos, but none of the adults. Actually, there is a really bad picture of me holding Sophie (whose almost 2 months old now) but we won't share that one with you. Enjoy the ones of the toddler's though. Can you tell which one is the stinker?

Our Goofball
I know, we are the ones responsible for this behavior!
Story behind the photo:
This is the storage bin that we put Gage's mega blocks in. Several months ago, I came home to "Watch this, Mommy" (spoken by Tim), while he proceeded to say to Gage, "Do you want to go Night-Night?". Gage said yes, grabbed his blankie, got into the box, pulled his knees to his chest and laid down. Tim then put the lid on the box and there Gage stayed. He actually gets mad if you take the lid off after a minute or so (being paranoid and afraid that he would suffocate!)
About 2 weeks ago, Gage and I were playing blocks, and Gage crawled in as usual and said, "Nigh-Nigh", which indicates that he wants me to put the lid on. So I put the lid on, and then lifted the box. The face he was making cracked me up so later that evening when Tim came home, we did it all over again, but this time I had the camera.
Again. Tim and I fully understand what we are creating here. A true goofball, who is the full product of his mother and father!

What we've been up to....
Due to some computer issues, I was only able to upload 10 pictures in about 45 minutes. Therefore, this is what you get so I can say I kept my promise. I will upload more, hopefully tomorrow, as this catches us up to the first weekend in June...
I have some Father's Day pictures as well as my first belly shot (with the shirt DOWN this time. I didn't have stretch mark scars at 8 weeks with Gage....)
Anyhow:
Gage and Daddy hanging out on the floor. This one made it into the picture book I made on Shutterfly for Tim for Father's Day.
During the line up of the parade, as our truck was the float for our church, Gage was hanging out in (and out of ) the truck. He is really crabby here, and I have a great video of him. But I don't know how to upload videos on either Google or blogger.

The Zor's fun cars that are most at most every parade I've ever attended...they let Gage sit on one before the parade started. I can't remember what affiliation the Zor's are with.....oops.
Auntie Katie in Gage's crib with him one of the last times she visited. She actually just left today, but this was taken at the end of May. Notice the bite marks on the left side....he has literally ruined his crib with his teeth. I know, it's time for a big boy bed, but we just want to get the dang walls painted before we do that......hopefully soon. I'll be posting about the crib in a future post, when #2 gets it as a hand-me-down.

Gage's FAVORITE place to be this summer is riding on the "twactoh", a.k.a. the lawn mower. He literally sits on Tim's lap and mows the lawn for up to an hour or more at a time! Awesome down time for Mama! However, the soothing (??) noise that the lawn mower makes sometimes lulls our little man to sleep...
Playdate at the Fox's! From left to right, Gage, Ari, Carly, and Nathan. And they are all sitting in our toybox!
A rare moment....but hopefully will always continue. I love my little man, especially when he cuddles me at bedtime.
Yeah. Don't ask. I don't even remember the story. Oh! I think we were playing "boats", and I was sitting in a big storage container (that had held maternity clothes) and this is Gage's trucks container. We went white water rafting, if I remember correctly. See! I'm fun sometimes!
More pictures to follow later this week.
I have another picture that consists of Gage and a storage container....
it's pretty funny!

My Promise
My mom and sister both made comments to me on Friday about how they check my blog several times a day, just waiting for a new post, only to be disappointed that I haven't added one...
and I know how that feels, b/c I have my list of blogs that I click on most every day, and wonder, "What's Up?" when someone hasn't posted in awhile.
Well, if I was bad before I found out I was pregnant with #2, then all I can say is "It's not going to get any better for awhile". Starting last Monday, the sickness started up. I never say "Morning sickness" b/c with my pregnancy with Gage, it lasted from the time I woke up until the time I went to sleep. Sleep was my only blissful time...
and it seems to be this way again with #2.
I don't feel quite as bad this time around, but it's not "good" either. If I had to rate my sickness with Gage on a scale from 1-10, I would have labeled it a 9.5 on most days. This time, I would say my worst day thus far (today) was probably close to an 8. I don't know if it is literally "less" worse, or if my mindset is just different. I remember going through it the last time thinking, "This is never going to end. My life will never be the same. I will never enjoy this pregnancy" (blah, blah, blah, amidst tears and feeling-sorry-for-myself sobs). This time, I KNOW that there is an end, (and a wonderful one at that), and even though my life WILL never be the same (as it was before #1, or now, before #2) I have a lot more to keep me busy now...like an overactive 2-year-old...a new house...landscaping that I had a brilliant idea to re-do about 4 weeks ago...than I did when I was pregnant the first time. So I'm not sure if this is a round of "less sickness", or if it's just in my head that it IS temporary, that I need to "Buck up, Camper" and move on.
With all of that said, it is not fun, and it's a pain when you're in the midst of it. I am not getting much done around here, and in fact, never even took a shower today and wore the shirt I slept in last night all day today. (No deodorant! Ewwwwww......but do you even SWEAT when you're laying on the couch???)
My promise is that I will be uploading new pictures on Monday night. I HAVE to be on the computer to prepare for a Wednesday night jewelry show, and I will not be on the computer tomorrow as it's Father's Day and I'm spending the day with my family. Therefore, when you click on this site on Tuesday morning, you will see some really fun pictures of Gage from the past couple of weeks, and maybe even some of me while lying on the couch working very hard at growing my new baby.
I don't like to let you people down (my large viewing audience of about 20 (give or take) that you are.....

Latest Gage Quotes
"No, I-don-wan-too" --for everything. No matter whether I am asking him to pick something up, come to the table for lunch, give Jazz a treat, etc. It's "No-I-don-wan-too". Even if he does.
"I wanna see poop"--pretty self explanatory. The kid is fascinated by what's in his diaper. I'm sure I have nothing to do with this, as I NEVER say "pew" or "Wow, o-child of mine" or "Holy crap, no pun intended" while I'm changing his diaper, sparking the least bit of interest in what it is he has created.
"I deed eet" (for "I did it!") --this is the latest. Whenever he does anything by himself (potty on the toilet, throw something in the garbage, put a toy piggy in the back of the tractor trailer) he gets this big grin, squats down like he's about to jump up, and yells at the top of his lungs, "I deed eet!" Sweet.
"Mo twactoh" (More Tractor). My child is fascinated with tractors. And since we do live in the country now, facing farmer Bob's field (I actually think the farmer's name is Kenny, but Bob sounds okay) there are a lot of tractors pulling in and out of the field right across from our driveway most days. As soon as he sees one, he immediately wants "Mo twactoh", even if the original one is still there. And the lawn mower is a twactoh, and my dad's 4-wheeler is a twactoh, and pretty much anything that slightly resembles a tractor is a twactoh to Gage.
